Job Description

1 Month contract with a Local Authority

Job Summary:

To be Responsible for the daily processing of online and paper applications to register to vote. This will include scanning applications for registration and absent vote applications. Online portal applications will need to be processed due to new legislation for electors who apply to vote by post/proxy vote.

There is a requirement for processing voter authority certificates for voting at a polling station when they do not have the required photo ID.

Support will be required to assist with the elections process this will include administration duties which include collating paperwork for polling stations and ensuring all notices and equipment is ready for the presiding officers to collect before election day.

Key Duties/Accountabilities:

Undertake accurate scanning and processing of various electoral forms.

To maintain up to date filing and archive Electoral all paper Registration documents including Absent Vote forms.(where required).

To respond to correspondence and enquiries relating to various enquires for registration and elections. Clear understanding of how to respond to emails.

Essential Experience Required:

Experience of Microsoft Software applications is essential.

Experience of providing office administration/service support services is essential.

Experience in dealing with the general public is essential.

Experience of working in electoral services is desirable.

Essential Qualification Required:

GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths qualification is essential.

AEA Foundation Certificate is desirable.

Additional information to note:

Working hours: 37 hours per week.

This role is 5 days in the Slough Office.
