Raw Material Store Officer

• Receive incoming raw materials from suppliers and verify quantities quality and documentation against purchase orders and delivery receipts.
  
• Inspect incoming materials for damage contamination or discrepancies and report any issues to the procurement or quality control department.
  
• Ensure proper labeling identification and storage of raw materials in designated warehouse locations following established inventory management procedures.
  
• Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems or manual logs including quantities on hand stock locations and consumption rates.
  
• Conduct regular physical inventory counts to reconcile system records with actual stock levels and investigate discrepancies.
  
• Monitor raw material expiration dates shelf life and storage conditions to prevent spoilage obsolescence or quality deterioration.
  
• Coordinate with production lead procurement staff and department heads to forecast raw material requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  
• Prepare and issue raw materials to production departments according to production schedules work orders or requisitions ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.
  
• Collaborate with quality control personnel to perform sampling testing and inspection of incoming materials and finished products as required.
  
• Implement firstinfirstout (FIFO) and firstexpiryfirstout (FEFO) principles to minimize inventory holding costs and prevent stockouts.
  
• Monitor and maintain warehouse cleanliness organization and safety standards to comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  
• Train and supervise warehouse personnel including forklift operators and material handlers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the storage facility
  

Requirements

• National diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics supply chain management or warehouse operations is advantageous.
  
• Previous experience working in a warehouse storeroom or materials management role preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  
• Knowledge of inventory management principles including receiving storing issuing and reconciling raw materials.
  
• Familiarity with computerized inventory control systems and software for tracking and managing inventory levels.
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and ensure proper stock rotation.
  
• Ability to prioritize tasks manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with suppliers production personnel and other internal stakeholders.
  
• Proficiency in using material handling equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
  
• Understanding of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations including properly handling hazardous materials.
  
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and overtime as needed to support production schedules.
  
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects bend stoop and stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
