Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced OT Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of operation theatre equipment and maintaining a sterile and safe environment. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role.

Requirements

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure the proper functioning of OT equipment including anesthesia machines heartlung machines and ventilators.
  
• Maintain accurate operation theatre records.
  
• Conduct regular physical verification of all OT equipment.
  
• Ensure a continuous and proper supply of oxygen and suction.
  
• Responsible for fumigation of OTs and documentation of the process.
  
• Ensure the proper functioning of centralized oxygen piping systems.
  
• Maintain OT temperature and humidity according to protocols.
  
• Operate and maintain scavenging systems for the removal of anesthetic gasses.
  
• Verify the functioning of anesthesia machines and breathing systems.
  
• Ensure all instruments and medicines are stocked and loaded on the trolley for surgeries.
  
• Assist in patient transfer or shifting from stretcher to table and back including from OT to hospital room.
  
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures.
  
• Monitor patients during the preoperative and postoperative phases.
  
• Assist anesthesiologists in administering drugs IV fluids blood transfusions and preparing drugs.
  

Essential Qualifications:

• Diploma or certification in Operation Theater Technology or related field.
  
• Proven experience as an OT Technician or in a similar role.
  
• Knowledge of OT equipment and maintenance protocols.
  
• Understanding of sterilization and fumigation processes.
  
• Ability to monitor and manage OT environmental conditions (temperature humidity).
  
• Proficient in patient care and assistance during surgical procedures.
