Inbound Talent is recruiting for a NOC Engineer position for a client based in the Bathgate area.

This is a rare opportunity to get in at the early stages of a Network Operations Centre development.

Please note: This is a night shift role. The successful candidate will be expected to work evenings and nights.

The Role:

The clients Network Operations Centre (NOC) is seeking an experienced NOC Engineer to join the existing support team. The successful candidate will be part of a Night Shift Team initially working shifts from 6 pm to 6 am on a 4 nights on 4 nights off schedule. A rotation including day shifts will be implemented in the future but the position will involve night shifts only for the first 612 months.

Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently and effectively resolve networking incidents and problems maintaining client satisfaction while complying with Capita Network Services policies procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with both Network Engineering and Service Delivery Teams to deliver bestinclass service across a critical client base.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for customergenerated calls.
  • Log faults and service requests on the Zoho CRM system.
  • Perform initial diagnostics and aim to resolve over 95% of all faults and requests.
  • Work within strict SLAs to provide timely resolutions to customers.
  • Ensure all support requests are up to date at the end of each shift and hand over any outstanding issues to the incoming shift staff.
  • Keep customers informed of fault progress and regularly update the system.
  • Configure and troubleshoot faults on Starlink Systems Private 5G switches routers and modems. Experience with Ubiquiti solutions would be advantageous.
  • Liaise with 3rd party engineers/SMCs on the phone to work towards fault resolution.
  • Provide support and perform remote configurations and link checks for field engineers.
  • Actively monitor the networks using the network monitoring system.
About The Candidate:
  • Proven NOC experience or background in supporting enterprise networks ideally holding or working towards a Cisco CCNA qualification or demonstrating equivalent experience (desirable).
  • Eligible for SC Clearance.
  • Ability to provide technical support while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Experience with Low Earth Orbit solutions would be advantageous.
  • Experience dealing with 3rd Party Suppliers and escalating issues as appropriate to ensure timely resolution across a wide range of technologies.
  • Proven knowledge of working in an ITIL service environment and adhering to strict SLAs.
  • Ability to deliver consistent performance in a highpressure environment with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.


The ideal candidate should possess proven experience in NOC operations and supporting enterprise networks, along with a background in networking. Holding or working towards a Cisco CCNA qualification is desirable. They should demonstrate proficiency in fault resolution, customer service delivery, and technical support, with a focus on maintaining client satisfaction within strict SLAs. Additionally, experience with Low Earth Orbit solutions and third-party supplier management would be advantageous. The candidate should be capable of working effectively in a high-pressure environment, adhering to ITIL service standards, and communicating efficiently with stakeholders.
