Position Details:

  • Title: Special Education Teacher
  • Location: Farmingham MA
  • Duration: Fulltime
  • Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Working Hours: 35 hours weekly from Monday to Friday
  • Student Age Group: Middle and High
  • Case Load: 8 kids

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student
  • Design and deliver differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
  • Utilize evidencebased teaching strategies and resources to support student learning and growth
  • Conduct assessments to identify students strengths needs and progress
  • Regularly monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents and guardians
  • Create a positive inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support a safe and productive learning environment
  • Collaborate with general education teachers specialists and support staff to provide coordinated and comprehensive support for students
  • Participate in IEP meetings parentteacher conferences and other schoolrelated meetings to discuss student progress and needs
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents guardians and colleagues
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and instructional strategies
  • Participate in schoolwide training and development opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all federal state and local regulations related to special education
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student progress IEP implementation and any required reporting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master s degree preferred)
  • Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Special Education
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferably in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws IEP development and instructional strategies for students with disabilities
  • Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently
