Title: Mechanical Engineer

Status: Exempt

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Location: Tulsa OK

Summary:
The mechanical engineer creates designs for generator enclosures ULlisted fuel tanks subframes and service platforms. The engineering manager will provide direction for carrying out the detail production design through submission drawings and a timetable. The engineer will be responsible for taking the client approval package and creating a productionready design with little supervision.


Responsibilities:

• Ensure that designs meet business design guidelines.
• Responsible for ensuring drawing correctness to avoid rework and scrapping.
• Create productionready models drawings and work packs for goods in the estimated number of hours.
• Perform engineering calculations for wind and seismic loads as well as the design of any necessary reinforcing structures.
• Quickly handle any shop floor concerns with the production manager.
• Follow and adhere to the production schedule for production design release dates on the shop floor.
• Write and distribute standard procedure documentation as needed.
• Manage engineering from the authorized client drawing package to the final manufacturing stage.
• Additional tasks may be allocated.

Qualifications:

• Ability to problem solve find root causes and take preventive or corrective actions.
• Bachelors degree in engineering.
• High attention to details.
• Handson production and mechanical design experience.
• Able to work efficiently with minimum supervision.
• Thorough understanding of sheet metal and weldment design.
• Knowledgeable of Solidworks best practices.
• Understanding of machine capabilities and fabrication equipment with respect to the constraints it places on creating efficient manufacturable designs.
• Proficiency in Solidworks PDM Excel and ERP Software.
• Strong work ethic with demonstrated accountability.
• Familiar with OSHA UL and NEC codes.
• Electrical experience is a plus.
