Job Details
- Shift: 40 hours per week Monday Friday
- Work Location: Onsite Palo Alto CA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with nursing interdisciplinary teams and community resources to define problems develop
- Plans and provide appropriate referrals.
- Develops implements and evaluates costeffective educational programs for diabetic patients their families and communities.
- Identifies specific needs for and means to enhance professional development and maintain clinical competency.
- Incorporates clinical research in clinical educational and consultative roles to provide a scientific basis for professional nursing practice.
- Knowledge of glucose monitoring systems insulin administration technology pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment of diabetes and complications.
- Promotes quality patient care by serving as a resource to care providers of patients with diabetes
- Provides and role models indirect care of diabetic patients.
- Teaches patients families and staff in formal and informal settings about the care needs of diabetic patients using appropriate methodology and strategies
Requirements
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution. (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- NursingRN Registered Nurse State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure or
- RD Registered Dietitian required
- CDCES Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist required
Experience
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
