Ensure the safety of workers relying on respirator air supplies with a critical role as a Bottle Watch Attendant!

About the Role:

In hazardous environments where workers utilize supplied air respirators (SARs) or selfcontained breathing apparatus (SCBA) the safety net comes in the form of a Bottle Watch Attendant. Youll be responsible for monitoring the workers air supply and ensuring their safety throughout the operation.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor the air pressure gauges on the breathing air supply system including refill tanks and worker respirators.
  
• Maintain clear communication with workers ensuring their air supply remains adequate and alerting them of any potential issues.
  
• Be prepared to switch out depleted air cylinders with full ones seamlessly minimizing downtime for workers.
  
• Conduct visual inspections of the air supply system and respirator equipment for leaks or damage.
  
• Report any malfunctions or safety concerns to the designated supervisor immediately.
  
• Maintain clear and accurate logs documenting air pressure readings refill times and communication exchanges.
  
• In some cases you might also assist workers with donning and doffing their respirator equipment.
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  
• Must have Bottle Watch Certification
  
• Completion of respirator use and safety training is mandatory.
  
• Understanding of hazardous atmospheres and supplied air systems is beneficial.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and remain focused for extended periods.
  
• Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety protocols.
  
• Physical ability to lift and transport air cylinders (may vary depending on specific equipment).
