Job Description

digitalswitzerland is a Swisswide crossindustry initiative with the goal of transforming Switzerland into a leading digital nation.

For the fourth time #herHACK invites to tackle the shortage of skilled labour in the ICT sector and at the same time promote the potential of female talent. As the largest femaleled hackathon in Switzerland #herHACK sends a strong signal in favour of diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. Find more information on our website.

The main event is the national hackathon which takes place on two days in November 2024. During the year we offer our existing #herHACK community and new participants educational events and networking opportunities throughout Switzerland.

Tasks

We are looking for a:

Event Manager #herHACK femaleled hackathon (freelance)

Start Date: May 2024 (or by agreement)

End Date: November 2024

Application Deadline: 16.06.24

Estimated Workload:

  • May: 40 hours
  • June: 40 hours
  • July: 16 hours
  • August: 16 hours
  • September: 16 hours
  • October: 64 hours
  • November: 120 hours

The position requires working from our Zurich office on a hybrid basis. Willingness to travel for location scouting etc. is a requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of events (physical hybrid and digital) from conception and planning to operational execution.
  • Coordinate and manage temporary staff external partners and service providers.
  • Manage the creation of event materials such as printed materials invitations and promotional giveaways ensuring they align with the overall theme and objectives of the event.
  • Provide support for regional events by coordinating logistics managing event material procurement and developing regional event packages and tools.
  • Ensuring all event materials conform to our Corporate Identity/Corporate Design (CI/CD) standards.

Requirements

The experience and skills we are looking for:

  • Experience in event management particularly in organising large events (up to 300 pax) onsite and online.
  • Proficiency in audienceoriented communication event planning and execution.
  • Professionalism and confidence when engaging with partners participants and stakeholders.
  • Strong selfmanagement skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Flexible resilient and solutionoriented team player.
  • English language skills (written and spoken) proficiency in German and additional languages such as French and Italian are a plus.
  • Basic IT skills (Google Drive incl. Google Docs and Sheets Video conferencing tools like Zoom Event Management tools like Zoon etc.)

Benefits

Compensation:

We expect a monthly invoice with an overview of your working hours. We offer CHF 100./h.

It is a matter of course for us to contribute to the expenses. Travelling and separate expenses etc. need a separate alignment with the leading PM. In any case we need a corresponding receipt.
