MongoDB Atlas Engineer

Overview

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimize MongoDB Atlas clusters and configurations
• Implement and maintain database security and compliance
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support applications
• Design and implement disaster recovery and backup solutions
• Provide technical expertise and support for MongoDB Atlas usage
• Automate routine database tasks and processes
• Perform database migrations and upgrades
• Document database architecture and processes
• Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning
• Stay updated with MongoDB best practices and industry trends
• Collaborate with vendors for support and issue resolution
• Participate in oncall rotation and incident response
• Contribute to the development of databaserelated policies and procedures
• Provide training and guidance to other team members as needed

Required qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in MongoDB and Atlas database administration
• Understanding of cloud services such as AWS Azure or GCP
• Experience with database security and compliance standards
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python Shell or JavaScript
• Ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues
• Strong knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies
• Experience in automation and configuration management tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
• Certifications in MongoDB or cloud platforms is a plus
• Proven problemsolving and analytical abilities
• Knowledge of data modeling and schema design
• Experience in implementing high availability and scalability solutions
