We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance and planning with the ability to navigate complex tax regulations and identify opportunities for tax savings. The Senior Tax Accountant will work closely with clients or internal departments to ensure accurate and timely tax filings as well as provide strategic tax advice to minimize liabilities and optimize financial performance.
- Prepare and review federal state and local tax returns for individuals corporations partnerships and other entities.
- Analyze financial data to determine tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize savings.
- Research tax issues and stay uptodate on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Communicate with clients or internal stakeholders to provide tax advice and support.
- Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Review financial statements and other documents to ensure accuracy and completeness for tax purposes.
- Collaborate with other departments such as finance and legal to address taxrelated issues and provide guidance on business transactions.
- Mentor and train junior staff members on tax compliance and planning best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive tax information and ensure compliance with ethical standards and professional regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting with a focus on compliance and planning.
- Indepth knowledge of federal state and local tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
