Job Description

Our Clinical Direct Support Professionals are skilled mentors who encourage and support individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in the development of skills needed to successfully integrate into both home and community settings.

All new employees are provided comprehensive training in our clinical program including but not limited to: trauma informed care DBT skills personal care MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) CPR and First Aide as well as many diagnosis specific trainings. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the NH state law requiring mandated reporting of suspected abuse neglect or exploitation
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation in regulation with state and Agency requirements
  • Follow program schedule and daily duties as outlined by team and program manager
  • Assist with implementing and developing the Annual Service Agreement (ASA) goals
  • Assist and encourage individuals to reach the highest levels of independence by utilizing selfadvocacy skills
  • Assist individuals in Activities of Daily Living including but not limited to personal care
  • Ensure general health and safety of client(s) in all environments as assigned on a daily basis
  • Communicate effectively with clients team members and other stakeholders to ensure seamless translation of knowledge
  • Research and initiate relevant community and vocational opportunities and relationships while maintaining established connections
  • Transport clients as required by the program
  • When applicable implement behavioral interventions as guided by written and Human Rights Committee (HRC) approved behavior plans
  • Participate in biweekly group supervision to ensure consistency of clinical support to individuals
  • Allow for schedule flexibility to attend trainings as required in order to remain current on best practices in clinical support
  • Teamwork regular attendance in the office and facetoface interaction are essential job functions
  • Other duties as assigned by Director


Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Experience working with dually diagnosed individuals preferred
  • Completion of management of aggressive behavior (MOAB) training part 1 and part 2
  • It is considered a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) for direct support staff /professionals to accompany clients to religious ceremonies as dictated by the clients personal religious preferences
  • Valid driver s license $100000/30000 Automobile Liability Insurance and access to a safe operating vehicle during scheduled working hours
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database systems Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the Moore Center s values
  • Comply with all state agency and department policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Assist individuals in community vocational and residential settings
  • Provide personal care and behavioral support including but not limited to physical assistance
  • Maintain professional demeanor in emotionally charged situations

  • Interact effectively with people of varied educational socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds skill levels and value systems

  • Ability to individualize the supports needed for the individuals we serve

Additionally staff are required to maintain criminal motor vehicle and Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services record checks that meet agency standards. Staff are also required to travel and transport clients when applicable. This includes having access to a reliable vehicle a valid driver s license and maintaining personal auto insurance of $100000/300000.
