Description
Position Summary:
The IB School Coordinator is a highly skilled educational leader with experience in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes including the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (IBDP). This role involves coordinating the schools IB programmes and supporting the accreditation process for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) ensuring alignment with IB standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and strategic direction for the implementation and coordination of the IB programmes including PYP MYP and IBDP within the school community.
2. Collaborate with school leadership teachers and stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for IB programme evaluation accreditation and continuous improvement.
3. Coordinate the preparation of documentation evidence and selfstudy reports required for IB programme evaluation and authorization ensuring alignment with IB standards and guidelines.
4. Support the development and alignment of curriculum instruction and assessment practices with the IB frameworks and WASC accreditation standards promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
5. Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their understanding of IB pedagogy assessment practices and accreditation requirements and provide support and mentorship as needed.
6. Coordinate site visits evaluations and reviews conducted by IB representatives and WASC accreditation teams serving as the primary liaison between the school and external accrediting agencies.
7. Analyze data gather feedback and identify areas for improvement based on evaluation outcomes and collaborate with school leadership and stakeholders to develop and implement action plans.
8. Manage resources and timelines related to IB programme coordination and accreditation activities ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with school priorities and goals.
9. Uphold the mission values and policies of the school and serve as a positive role model for students staff and the broader community.
Qualifications:
1. Masters or Bachelor s degree in Education or related field; additional qualifications or certifications in IB education.
2. Experience in IB programmes with demonstrated expertise in PYP MYP and IBDP curriculum instruction and assessment.
3. Previous experience in a leadership or coordination role within an IB school or similar educational setting including involvement in IB programme evaluation authorization.
4. Strong understanding of the IB philosophy mission and educational principles and a commitment to promoting internationalmindedness inquirybased learning and holistic education.
5. Excellent communication collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and foster a positive school culture.
6. Visionary leadership qualities including strategic thinking innovation and the ability to inspire and empower others to achieve excellence.
7. Analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to analyze data identify trends and make datadriven decisions to support school improvement initiatives.
8. Knowledge of accreditation processes standards and requirements for IB schools and experience leading accreditation processes and evaluation visits.
