Responsibilities:
Asset Procurement and Acquisition:
- Coordinate with procurement and finance teams to identify asset requirements and initiate procurement processes.
- Evaluate suppliers/vendors negotiate pricing and terms and facilitate the purchase of assets in accordance with organizational needs and budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies procedures and regulatory requirements during asset acquisition.
Asset Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all organizational assets including details such as location condition depreciation and ownership.
- Conduct regular physical audits and inspections to verify the existence and condition of assets reconciling physical counts with system records.
- Implement asset tagging and tracking systems to enhance visibility and control over asset inventory.
Asset Utilization and Maintenance:
- Monitor the utilization and performance of assets to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to prolong asset lifespan and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and external service providers to ensure timely repairs and servicing of assets.
Asset Disposal and Retirement:
- Develop and execute asset disposal strategies in compliance with organizational policies regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
- Evaluate and prioritize assets for disposal based on factors such as age condition and obsolescence.
- Coordinate the sale donation or recycling of retired assets ensuring proper documentation and asset retirement accounting.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset management such as theft loss damage or noncompliance.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations standards and industry best practices governing asset management activities.
- Implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and mitigate potential liabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Accounting or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in asset management inventory control or related roles.
- Knowledge of asset management principles practices and methodologies.
- Familiarity with asset management software and systems for inventory tracking and maintenance scheduling.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate crossfunctionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Certification in asset management (e.g. Certified Asset Management Professional) is a plus.
