Tasks

• Collect analyze and interpret information from peerreviewed scientific journals and publicly accessible databases with biomedical content to enhance data processing strategies.
• Collaborate in gathering and processing clinical data specifically focusing on histopathology images such as Whole Slide Images (WSI) complemented by highthroughput sequencing data.
• Develop and maintain data quality check pipelines. Harmonize data from various sources ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Maintain a comprehensive database to support advanced data mining activities ensuring data integrity and accessibility for the team.
• Harmonize datasets of various origins including imaging and sequencing data by applying appropriate statistical and bioinformatics techniques.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and the extraction of data as needed.
• Identify and troubleshoot datarelated issues ensuring data integrity and reliability. Authorize and oversee the implementation of necessary data maintenance or modifications.
• Initiate and take a leading position in datadriven biomedical research projects
• Work closely with bioinformaticians and AI specialists. Convey complex data concepts in English

Requirements

• Masters degree or PhD in Bioinformatics Computational Biology or a similar field
• Proficient in scientific programming languages Python R & Shell script as well as frameworks to analyze biomedical images. (PyTorch OpenCV)
• Knowledge of database architecture and development is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of pipeline/workflow languages is a plus. (Nextflow)
• Experience in High Performance Computing environments such as SLURM LSF and PBS.
• Have a keen understanding of the sources and implications of bias in data.
• Strong analytical skills especially in statistics
• Proficiency in handling biomedical data especially imaging data knowledge on array and sequence data is a plus.
• Very good English communication skills German is a plus
