Site Health Safety Engineer

We’re currently seeking to hire a Site Health and Safety Engineer for a new project at New Capital. Preference will be given to a qualified candidate who can develop, implement and review action plans, policies and procedures to ensure that the site meets all the statutory requirements relating to Occupational Safety and Health (OS&H).

Responsibilities:

Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics

Conduct audits and walkthroughs

Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation

Supervision and plan emergency drills

Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity

Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy

Manage incident and hazard reporting and workplace inspections in conjunction with Safety and Health Representatives

Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management

Provide specialist advice and guidance on safety and health and risk management issues

Handle the client requirements to meet safety standards

Carry out other duties as required

Qualifications:

BA degree in any discipline with a minimum of 8 years of experience in site supervision

Proven experience as safety consultant

In depth knowledge of legislation (OSHA, IOSH, NEBOSH,… etc.) and procedures

Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices

Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety

Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics

Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus Outstanding organizational skills

Diligent with great attention to detail

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics

Certificate in occupational health and safety
