Sommelier

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and promoteour extensive wine list ensuring it complements our dining offerings and meets our high standards.
• Offer expert wine pairing advice to guests to enhance their dining experience.
• Stay abreast of global wine trends and introduce innovative selections to our wine program.
• Conduct food & wine pairingwine tasting sessions and educational seminars for guests fostering an appreciation for wine culture.
• Adhere to proper wine storage and inventory management practices.
• Respond to guest inquiries and feedback regarding the wine selection with professionalism and in a manner that enhances customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations concerning alcohol service and consumption.

Essential Requirements:

• Professional certification as a Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers WSET 2 or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a highend restaurant or hotel.
• Profound knowledge of wine and its production with a passion for the latest trends in the wine industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
• Excellent computer software skills especially Microsoft Office Programs
• An unwavering commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
• Ability to work flexibly.
• The ability to train other members of the Food & Beverage Team on making wine recommendations and on correct service standards.
• Capability of conducting wine tasting sessions for large groups.

Contract:

• 6:2 rotations (6 months onboard followed by 2 months of vacation)
• Shared cabin (with private bathroom facilities)
