Lead System Engineer

No WI residency required. Open to nationwide candidates. This position is currently remote. However position status is subject to change.

Our client is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer that will provide innovative solutions within a diverse Enterprise environment with multiple cloud services and onpremises infrastructure components. The candidate will have expert level troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze current technologies used within our organization and determine ways to improve performance and provide stability to backend services. This position will be a technical lead for their backend infrastructure services. These services or systems include areas within the Microsoft Services arena including but not limited to Active Directory (AD) services including ADFS Group Policy Distributed File Services Azure subscriptions DHCP and networking protocols and services. This person will be responsible for third (3rd ) level technical support functions for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) monitoring tools multifactor authentication storage and backup Power Shell scripting and numerous customized off the shelf applications that have been implemented. A highlevel understanding of networking protocols and network connectivity will be required.

Tasks

• Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the administration maintenance and support of numerous backend systems that support the agencies application development security and desktop infrastructure.
• They will have responsibilities in directing and managing the workload of team members and managing the oncall support functions for the operations team.
• The individual will work closely with Information Technology professionals to ensure technical components are available for projects and working properly. Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates or new services.
• Will work closely with the supervisor and project teams to successfully monitor the progress of initiatives provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions and define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required

• Will be well versed in projecting for possible challenges on constraints including risks time resources and scope changes to the project.
• Will have the ability to direct a small team in completing tasks improving on operational support or maintenance and document processes as needed.
• A highlevel of soft skills in collaborating with Information Technology professionals within the organization to ensure the proper infrastructure components are available working as designed for projects or operations and that best practices and organizational IT policies are being followed.

• Experience as a Technical lead analyzing new and current technologies used within an organization with the ability to document and recommend solutions to improve on performance stability and cost savings to the agency.
• Ability to define and document system requirements and components based on user/client needs costs and required integration with existing applications systems or platforms.
• Expert level system administration skills for MS core services like DFS DHCP DNS to manage monitor and support Application Servers.
• 15 years Expert level experience in the MS Windows server administration including all current supported OS versions.
• 15 years Active Directory Group Policy implementation and troubleshooting.
• 10 years Expert knowledge in supporting certificate services.
• 10 years Expert experience in implementing technology best practices in an organization.
• 10 years Proven competencies in documenting infrastructure components documentation with MS Visio
• 10 years Expert knowledge in configuring LDAP
• 5 years Expert knowledge of multifactor authentication services.

• 5 years System administrator for MS Azure subscriptions and services
