Job Description:

At least 4 years of experience of Information Technology experience.

At least 3 years of experience in VMWare and VDI Administration.

Administration of VMWare ESXi farm monitors the environment for stability and take preventative steps to deliver highly available and scalable infrastructure.

Support Virtual Desktop (VDI) infrastructure using VMWare Horizon View.

Develop scripts to automate the monitoring of VDI environment and take corrective action using predictive analysis using tools like vROPS.

Administration and provisioning of Virtual Desktops Linked clones floating and dedicated pools Thin Provisioning Resource Pools Host Profiles and Storage plugins.

Application publishing using VMWare Horizon View.

ESXi server patching with appropriate BIOS and firmware using VMWare HCL

Keep management informed on a timely basis of progress status and/or concerns for each assignment communicates clearly and effectively with senior management on a day to day basis.

Collaborate and work hand in hand with Storage and Network teams in bringing stability to the systems. Plans coordinates and directs appropriate level data recovery strategies in support of complex data/media recoverability through system backups and database archive operations.

Optimizing VMware for utilization of SAN NFS and iSCSi storage.

Must be able to determine when and how to escalate issues to senior management

Must be able to decide when and how to work with a variety of internal and external teams

Must be able to decide on best solutions for technical problems.

Candidate must have experience in administering VMWare Horizon View (VDI) 7.x environment.

Candidate with experience in administering IBM Cloud (Softlayer) preferred.

Ideal candidate must have experience one or more scripting languages like VMware PowerCLI PowerShell etc.

Candidate with experience in administering VMware NSX and VMware vSAN preferred.

Candidate with experience in implementing and integrating hardware using Rack Mount servers and blade infrastructure using HPE OneView and Dell OME tools preferred.

Candidate with experience implementing and administering UCS server HX Connect and Cisco Intersight.

Experience in vRealize Automation and familiarity in using monitoring tools like vRealize Operations Manager preferred.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills very strong analysis/troubleshooting skills strong partnering/relationship building skills strong leadership skills.

Experience in administering Storage arrays like 3PAR EMC NetApp Oracle ZFS and optimizing VMware for utilization of SAN storage preferred.

Experience in administering Virtual infrastructure at cloud providers like IBM Cloud Azure Google cloud is a strong plus.

Unix Administration experience Linux is a MUST.

Experience with project management Planning and Coordination skills.

Good Communication and Analytical skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read write and interpret business and technical documents.

Good Hands on experience in providing Root Cause Analysis of incidents.

Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP DNS SMTP SNMP SSL and other relevant protocols.

Active exposure to IIS SQL SharePoint and/or other Microsoft Server Applications.

VMWare ESX vSphere Build and Administration.

Experience in Horizon VDI / View Environment.
