Position Overview:
As a Junior Staff Accountant you will play a crucial role in supporting the daytoday accounting operations of the company. Under the guidance of senior team members you will assist with various accounting tasks including accounts payable/receivable general ledger entries and financial reporting. This position offers valuable exposure to accounting principles and practices as well as opportunities for professional development and advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to accurately process and record transactions ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist in preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger maintaining accurate and uptodate financial records.
- Reconcile bank statements accounts receivable/payable ledgers and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support monthend and yearend close processes by preparing financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct basic financial analysis including variance analysis and trend identification to support decisionmaking processes within the finance department.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation for both internal and external audits ensuring compliance with audit requirements and regulations.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support adhoc projects and tasks providing financial insights and assistance as needed to drive business objectives forward.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to maintaining highquality work.
- At least 2 years of experience as a junior staff accountant or in a related field demonstrating a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic accounting software (e.g. Famous SAP etc.) with the ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
