Job Description

The Role:
The Cardiac Services Department are looking for 2 x Non-Interventional Cardiologist Specialists to join their team on a Permanent Full-Time basis, working in a stunning tropical location in a redeveloped Hospital equipped with leading edge technology!

Cardiac Services is currently staffed with FTE 5.0 Cardiologists (4 x Interventional & 1 x non-interventional), 6 Principal House Officers/Registrars (including 2 x Advanced Trainee's), 4 Junior /Senior House Officers and 3 interns and provides cardiology services to a local population of 180,000. The department is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for cardiology advanced training status. A wide range of cardiology diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are provided including Echo, TOE with 3D capacity, stress echo, Dobutamine, CTCA, Cardiac MRI, coronary intervention and pacing device implantation.

The Hospital:
This is a level 2 hospital (354) beds with 24-hour cardiac intervention, trauma service, medical specialities including Respiratory, Nephrology, Neurology, Endocrine, Rheumatology, Oncology on site with visiting specialists in other disciplines.

To reflect the growing demand for health care in the region, the Hospital has been redeveloped at a cost of $408 million. The redeveloped hospital is a digital hospital, equipped with leading edge technology to assist staff to provide the highest level of care and comfort to patients. It is the first regional hospital in Queensland to have the complete integrated electronic medical record.

Location:
A vibrant tropical location, home to a diverse and energetic community with rural and coastal living opportunities. The region stretches from secluded islands off the coast through golden sand beaches and into lush sub-tropical rain forests.
This is one of the fastest growing regions in Queensland, currently a population of approximately 182,000 people in the region, only just over an hour's flight from Brisbane.

Palm fringed beaches and crystal-clear waters are your playground for fishing and water sports. The region also hosts native rainforests that are popular hiking destinations. With an average annual temperature over 26 degrees, the region offers the best of the Australian experience in typical laid back Aussie Style .

Mandatory qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements
Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP).
Fellowship in Echocardiography highly desirable
