Location: Cleveland OH. Candidate will start remotely with their first week onsite for training purposes. After the first week candidate will work onsite as an on needed basis. Upon conversion to full time candidate must relocate to Cleveland.

Job description

MUST HAVE:

1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience is also acceptable.
2. Experience conducting comprehensive testing and verification of complex systems with a focus on Linuxbased platforms.
3. Experience with communication protocols such as Ethernet Modbus CAN and RS232/485.
4. Prior experience working in operations related field e.g. Industrial Engineering Manufacturing or Healthcare
5. Proficiency in testdriven software development practices and tools
6. Experience with C/C
7. Professional LinkedIn with profile picture.

NICE TO HAVE Prior experience with relevant technologies is preferred including:

1. EV charging infrastructure and corresponding standards and protocols.
2. Switch mode power supplies
3. MATLAB/Simulink
4. LabVIEW
5. Proficiency in using automated test tools

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The System Test Engineer EVC for NIS Americas (multiple positions) will develop software solutions for the Nidec EV Charging system. The candidate must be familiar with software development testing and debugging for embedded devices bus systems communication protocols interfacing with APIs and cloud services.
Prior experience with EV Charging infrastructure ISO15118 IEC61851 and Codesys will be beneficial.
The successful candidate will use C/C python Codesys and Linux tools to write and debug EVC Software. The system will interface with hardware I/O other peripherals in the charger and Azure cloud services. Networking and cybersecurity experience will be a bonus.
We are looking for strong problem solving and communication skills and the ability to interface with a range of functions inside the Nidec team as well as with users and customers during development debugging and testing.
