Job Description

Role: Enterprise Architect
Location: Jackson MS

JOB DESCRIPTION MDES is seeking one (1) enterprise architect with experience in .NET applications. The contractor will work in the state office with existing MDES technical team members to set the direction and establish the approach of an organizations operations improves the IT infrastructure and optimizes their business operations. The enterprise architect works to integrate the organizations information applications and programs. The contractor may also be required for designing developing and enhancing additional applications as requested.
Tasks required will be:
(1) Evaluating internal functions business development strategies and IT processes and suggesting improvements.
(2) Creating business architecture models to reflect the organizations strategies and goals and creating and implementing business visions and goals.
(3) Evaluating systems engineering talent recruiting and accounting models for discrepancies and vulnerabilities. The particular contractor will support the MDES Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) application and functions required under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Technical Skills:
.NET Development and Support
.NET Visual Studio Must have experience with recent versions.
Proven work experience as an Enterprise Architect or similar role
Experience in modeling and graphic representations
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Technical Skills:
Record locking development and experience
Applicationlevel security
System and user level auditing
SQL Server Database Administration
Design and produce queries for quarterly yearly and ad hoc reports required by US Department of Labor Legislature and state and local partners
Data modeling
BUSINESS SKILLS Proficient in English speaking and writing
Ability to interact with functional users & technical staff regarding business & information technology needs
Problem solving and listening skills
TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS Microsoft server operating systems including Windows 2008
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Microsoft server operating systems including Windows 2008
JavaScript
Crystal reports and reporting software
ETPL application
Problem/application resolutions for end users
System and Solutions Architect for core business functions with knowledge of all business processes within the ETPL: ITA OJT and Annual Recertification (10 yrs.); also MAGIC interface for all MDES payments (4 yrs.)
Object oriented programming mainframe programming and cross system data exchanges
Document and troubleshoot current web and network security issues and certificate authorities
Experience with Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration accounting software and MAGIC/PayMode including interfaces with MAGIC (vendor payment system)
Performance Reporting Analyst to perform wage crossmatch with ITA completers to create training course report card
QA/TESTING APPROACHES APPLICATION Create and maintain testing environment and data needed for testing
Coordinate QA User Testing activities among various State and Local parties
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERICENCE Local candidates always a plus
Previous state/gov experience always a plus
Local Candidate Preferred
