Role and Responsibilities:
As the GM of New Project Construction you will play a crucial role in planning executing and finalizing construction projects for our esteemed clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the entire project construction process ensuring projects are completed on time within scope and within budget
- Collaborating with architects and designers to ensure design specifications and brand standards are met
- Managing the permitting process and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations
- Creating and managing project budgets tracking expenses and ensuring costeffectiveness
- Monitoring construction progress ensuring workmanship and materials meet quality standards
- Selecting and managing contractors and vendors overseeing their work and ensuring timely project completion
- Regularly updating hotel management and stakeholders on project progress and any potential issues
- Identifying and mitigating potential project risks to prevent delays and cost overruns
- Handling changes in project scope schedule and costs effectively
- Ensuring construction sites adhere to safety standards and regulations
- Overseeing project completion and ensuring a smooth transition to hotel management
Candidate Qualifications:
To excel in this role you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in construction management engineering or a related field (masters degree is a plus)
- 10 years of experience as a construction project manager in the hotel industry or similar
- Strong knowledge of construction processes materials and methods
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
- Excellent project management skills including budgeting and scheduling
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
