ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Data Engineer to support the ambitious growth plans of the business. The Business Transformation team is at the very start of an extremely exciting journey which makes this role a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ambitious and really wants to make an impact and demonstrate their skills in this field.

As a Data Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient management of data within our organisation. You will be responsible for designing developing and optimising data pipelines and systems as well as analysing and interpreting large datasets to drive actionable insights and inform decisionmaking.

As a member of our dynamic team you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions to make our business and IT operations more efficient and help unlock the power of our Data. You will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to understand and address their data needs and challenges. The ideal candidate is a detailoriented problem solver with a strong understanding of data engineering principles and handson experience with data visualization tools SQL Python Cloud Infrastructure and ETL pipelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Data Engineer you will be accountable for supporting our Business Transformation and Innovation strategy and as such we see the key responsibilities of the role as being:

• Design develop and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
  
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather and understand data requirements
  
• Set up and maintain cloud infrastructure focusing on integration services and data warehouses
  
• Optimise and tune data pipelines for performance and scalability
  
• Perform data validation cleansing and transformation tasks to ensure data quality and integrity
  
• Develop and implement data storage and retrieval solutions
  
• Design and build data models and schemas to support business analytics and reporting
  
• Work with our Data Analysts to analyse and interpret large datasets to identify trends patterns and relationships
  
• Monitor and troubleshoot data platforms to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or a similar role
  
• Strong proficiency in SQL and knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL Microsoft SQL Oracle or MySQL
  
• Experience in Cloud Infrastructure (Azure AWS Google Cloud)
  
• Proficiency in Web APIs (REST GraphQL SOAP) and in setting up and maintaining integrations
  
• Experience with ETL tools and frameworks such as Data Factory Fivetran Stitch or Apache Spark
  
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python R or JavaScript
  
• Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI Tableau or Qlik Sense
  
• Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
