Job Description
This is a remote position.
Our client is a global manufacturing company a market leader in the shipbuilding and marine equipment manufacturing industry. In order to grow the organization and strengthen its engineering team in Oceania our client wants to recruit a:
Service Engineer (Electrical)
(Based in Fremantle / Remote)
ORGANISATION:
You will be reporting to the Managing Director and will be in charge of providing both onsite (shipyards) and offsite engineering services and support to customers to resolve any technical and operational issues on the company installed equipment. This is a handson role requiring you to work onsite and in the company workshop. As a frontline representative the service engineer interacts with owner s representatives shipyard personnel and other stakeholders ensuring customer satisfaction. Flexibility to travel is required as this position will require traveling to support clients throughout the Oceania region.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installation commissioning validation and maintenance of capital equipment onsite (shipyards) and at the company workshop.
- Serve as a customer facing technical resource and work in collaboration with technicians and clients.
- Create and maintain installation data service information and log in the company enterprise database.
- Make sure that the company workshop is well maintained and the tools and equipment are clean and easily available to use.
Requirements
YOUR PROFILE:
- Diploma in Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in marine capital equipment
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience in repairs maintenance and commissioning work in marine or shipping or offshore industry.
- Experience working on machinery or equipment like engines gearboxes or propulsion systems will be an added advantage.
- Good analytical skills with ability to solve challenging problems at customer end
- Communication leadership and handson skills
- You are willing to travel local interstate and other international locations as required.
