Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Projects Engineer to join our existing projects team within our Power & Industrial (P&I) division based in Cramlington Northumberland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the project performance ontime delivery metrics and profit and loss reporting of assigned projects within the Projects function and will manage the function through liaison with Projects personnel Sales Operations Customers Engineers and Inspectors.

Scope for flexible working arrangements including working from home on occasion is offered subject to agreement. A degree of domestic and international travel will be required to fulfil the obligations of the role therefore a valid passport and the ability to travel is essential.

Previous experience gained in an Air Filtration business would be a major advantage for this role.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the financial performance of allocated projects as well as delivery in terms of Safety Quality Cost and Delivery.
• Manages multiple larger more complex and strategic projects / customers.
• Contributes to sustained growth through excellent project performance whilst increasing company margin through world class project control and execution.
• Planning and forecasting project sales and margin for assigned projects on a weekly / monthly cycle.
• Controls interfaces between clients sales and operations units.
• Maximize earnings from all allocated projects.
• Controls resources and work effort to achieve targets of shipments and profitability.
• Ensures customers requirements of specification and program are delivered to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat orders.
• Assesses commercial risks and opportunities of assigned major projects in conjunction with sales before acceptance and during contract execution.

Person Specification:

Education Qualifications and Affiliations

Essential

• HNC Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent engineering discipline/experience)
• APMP Prince 2 or similar qualification in principles of Project Management.

Desirable

• BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent engineering discipline/experience)

*Completed qualifications from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Experience

Essential

• Demonstrable experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Previous experience in an engineering / manufacturing company within a similar role.
• Project Management experience within an international projectbased environment.
• Experience of working with offshore installation project management.
• Knowledge of power and industrial filtration technology.
• Knowledge of air filtration principles.
• Comfortable working on a number of high value projects simultaneously.
• Previous customer facing experience.
• Knowledge of Quality assurance systems (ISO 9001)
• Computer literate and able to use a wide range of software packages.

Desirable:

• Previous experience gained within the industry i.e. O&G Energy and Power Generation.
• Understanding of gas turbine filtration solutions.
• Experience of working offshore.
• Experience of working with overseas clients.

Licenses or Certifications

Essential

• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Full valid passport.

Desirable

• Full driving license.
• Membership of an appropriate professional body such as IMechE.
