Job Description: Maintenance Assistant Manager

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing all aspects of the maintenance department
• Coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure efficient and effective operation of equipment and facilities
• Perform handson maintenance and repair of bakery equipment and machinery including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and recommend preventive maintenance measures
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including work orders equipment logs and inventory
• Train and supervise maintenance staff providing guidance and support to ensure job proficiency
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance and repair activities without disrupting production schedules
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
• Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and procedures and contribute to the development of solutions

Essential Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of maintenance best practices and preventive maintenance principles
• Experience with equipment repair including motors conveyors and packaging machinery
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals diagrams and blueprints
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Desired Experience:

• Prior experience in a supervisory or assistant management role
• Familiarity with bakery or food industry regulations and quality standards
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
