Job Description

Compliance Officer Milton Keynes

A fantastic opportunity to join one of the UKs leading Property Management companies as a Compliance Officer. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the adherence to risk and compliance standards within the company. Your responsibilities will involve providing legal support to the Professional Services Division focusing on claims complaints and overall compliance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research investigate claims and generate reports on liability as directed by the Specialist Caseworker.
  • Draft letters and defenses under the guidance of the Specialist Caseworker.
  • Research and draft legal advice under the supervision of the Specialist Caseworker.
  • Undertake training in Professional Indemnity Public Liability and County Court Claims.
  • Open manage and maintain case files related to claims.
  • Stay updated on current case law in property management conducting research and providing guidance notes to the business.
  • Assist the Specialist Caseworker in ensuring the smooth operation of the Professional Services Department.
  • Handle administrative tasks as required.
  • Provide support to other team members and the Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of leasehold property law with the ability to interpret lease clauses and offer advice.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel and experience using a Case Management System.
  • Selfdriven with the ability to work independently and manage workloads with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

Preferable:

  • Completed Legal Practice Course.
  • Good knowledge of property management for long leasehold properties including the connection between Leasehold Freehold and other property ownership types.
  • Proven experience in providing comprehensive reports and feedback in an office environment.
