Summary: The Environmental Coordinator coordinates and maintains policies adhering to local state and federal environmental health and safety regulations. Inspects the work areas and work procedures and makes recommendations accordingly. S/he maintains and updates environmental regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. This position will treat wastewater support acid pickle operations and support environmental functions as needed.
What you ll be doing:
- Coordinating the Environmental Portion of the Corporate EHS Management System for Mill locations.
- Coordinate environmental waste disposal and maintain waste manifest records.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental permits.
- You ll have deep Involvement in Environmental related projects.
- Oversee wastewater treatment operations.
- Help facilitate new hire orientation training and onsite review.
- Oversee the pickle and acid operations.
- Complete weekly and monthly environmental inspections.
- Collect and maintain all environmental paperwork.
- Ensure all environmental reporting is completed.
- Facilitate and track environmental training.
- Lead the Environmental Teams.
- Obtain Wastewater B Certification for Indiana.
- Be the onsite contact for any 3rd party environmental contractors.
- Serve as liaison with federal state and local agencies and officials.
- Inspect facilities to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Support other EHS related projects as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor s Degree with a concentration in Environmental Health and Safety preferred.
- 35 years experience in a manufacturing environment and basic lab experience.
- Mix of comparable years and experience considered.
Bachelor s degree preferably with major in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Business or related field 2+ year of Human Resources Generalist experience Supervisory or Management experience preferred Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Strong interpersonal skills Must be able to interact professionally and positively with employees at all levels in the organization Impeccable attention to detail Position is Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Periodically off shift work may be required for employee events and projects. Some experience with HRIS such as Kronos, WorkDay and WorkLoud is preferred.
