Job Description
A large and successful garment manufacturer is seeking a talented and experienced Technical Manager to manage their large Sample Room in Gurgaon India. The role reports to the Vice President.
The role is to manage the Sample room interpreting the technical designs sent by buyers from Europe and the US liaising with the customers to understand and troubleshoot technical issues.
Technical Manager (Sampling): The Role:
- Interpret the technical designs and communicate to the pattern cutters/masters/tailors
- Lead with examples of best practices in pattern cutting grading and sample development and scale up the capability of the team
- Oversee pattern cutting and Garment Technology functions
- Manage the relationship between the Buying team and the technical team and oversee areas including pattern making pattern grading sample development etc
- Ensure that the technicians manage garment FIT checks correctly and share the knowhow for correction of pattern
- Communicate with all technicians regularly to discuss development progress and share information on new initiatives/techniques
- Be the leader in all aspects related to "Garment Construction" and "Pattern Making" and work with other functions including technical design and product
- Training operators to improve skill levels
Requirements
Technical Manager (Sampling): The Role:
You will
- be technically strong experience and have good knowledge of patterns and fits
- have experience in liaising with buyers or buying houses on any technical issues
- have good communication skills both oral and written
- have commercial awareness and be able to work in a fastpaced environment with tight deadlines
- be able to manage a team of 1012 pattern cutters/technicians/masters
The role with suit someone with current experience in working for an apparel manufacturer. The position is in Gurgaon India.
