Export Manager

Our client a freight forwarder has an opening for an Export Manager with experience in ocean and air freight forwarding for their Queens NY office.

The position requires experience in booking freight and maintaining relationships with vendors as well as supervising Export Coordinators.

Job Duties

• Handson export coordination from A to Z and oversees a team of coordinators.
• Quote transportation and ocean freight rates to clients.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers customers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on shipping activities.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.
• Coordinate daily shipment operations with clients.
• Monitor shipments from origin to destination to ensure ontime delivery to avoid delays.
• Keep customers updated on shipment status.

Qualifications

• 3 years of ocean export management experience
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Good knowledge of the organization of ocean and air transportation
• Experience training and mentoring employees
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong market and product knowledge

Position is onsite in the office Mon. Fri. 9 am 5:30 pm.
