Responsibilities:
The Systems Engineer will work as a member of the IT Infrastructure Team focused primarily on data center technologies (VMware/UCS/Storage/Microsoft) and responsible for managing various technologies that the Infrastructure team supports. This position requires taking a lead role on projects (small and large) and following through to completion. It also requires mentoring other team members when needed.
- Administer upgrade and support the VMware hypervisor environment (vCenter ESXi vMotion DRS Storage DRS Clusters/Datacenters HA and VUM)
- Implement and support the enterprise server infrastructure (Cisco UCS BSeries Blades CSeries Rack Servers Fabric Interconnects Nexus Fabric Extenders UCS Manager)
- Manage and maintain an enterprise storage environment with backup/restore operations as well as replication techniques and tape management
- Manage and maintain a Microsoft Windows Server enterprise environment in a multisite configuration (Active Directory DNS Group Policy DFS Certificate Services and IIS Web Farm)
- Maintain support and test business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
- Implement and support Microsoft technologies and services such as Azure AD and Azure IaaS
- Responsible for running and maintaining various security products and operations such as patch management access control server antimalware software malware investigations and vulnerability/threat management
- Coordinate with business units to understand functional requirements to maintain stable and scalable infrastructure
- Monitor and report on all critical infrastructure components that have a high impact on business operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five (5) years of experience implementing configuring and managing a Cisco UCS server environment using Cisco Nexus switches and Fabric Extenders with a strong understanding of unified I/O networking for LAN and SAN connectivity
- Five (5) years of experience implementing configuring and managing an enterprise VMware environment
- Five (5) years of experience implementing configuring and managing Microsoft domain services or Microsoft technologies
- Familiarity and experience with enterprise data center storage and VEEAM backup products with a strong understanding of storage concepts such as Zoning SAN NAS FC/FCoE CIFS NFS iSCSI
- Indepth knowledge of data center standards concepts best practices and procedures
- Working knowledge of networking technologies and how to troubleshoot them is preferred
- Strong familiarity and experience with Microsoft Server administration (2012/2016/2019); MCP/MCSE a plus
- Indepth experience with monitoring and diagnosing complex network security and systems issues using tools such as Wireshark
- VMware VCP/VCAP preferred
- Azure and AWS experience and certifications are a plus
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation is a plus
