Job Description

We are looking for motivated Sales Design Engineers (SDE) to join our VPG Foil Resistors team! The SDE s main goal is to generate new design wins by communicating to engineers at existing and new customers. They will help maintain existing business by making sure designs continue to use Foil Resistors. The FDE must explore and hunt/find new customers and introduce them to Foil Resistor technology.

Currently hiring in the following states: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Arizona, or Washington


Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with engineers at existing customers (direct & distribution). Goal is to grow design-ins at known customers (travel by provided car or air)
  • Ability to understand our products, their benefits over competition and to present and perform demonstrations (kits provided) to customers
  • Strategically identify new target customers in end-user markets that could potentially benefit from foil resistor technology, qualify, and report the account for determination of further investment of sales resources
  • Ability to identify the resources necessary (local or factory) and communicate customer requirements needed to ultimately satisfy customer needs and win/grow our business
  • Complete administrative requirements for reporting back to management (example): call reports, requested presentation materials, expense reports, travel reports, etc.
  • Train distributors where/when necessary to develop a joint sales capability at major customers

Requirements :

  • Bachelors of Electrical Engineering (BSEE) desired; other relevant electrical/electronic technical degree will be considered
  • 5+ years of face-to-face technical electronics sales experience with design-in objectives
  • Passive components, Military customer experience a plus
