Job Description

Director of Finance/Controller

Location: On-Site - Las Vegas, NV

Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00

Commission Structure: Discretionary bonus

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA
  • Must be a leader AND contributor

This client is in the real estate investment industry.

About the Role

The Director of Finance will work closely with the C-Suite, assisting with high level finance and accounting functions. This person will communicate financial reporting internally and externally to the investor pool, including fund level activity and review of portfolio performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting and finance departments, including Treasury
  • Manage the monthly financial and board reporting
  • Prepare financial statements, annual reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Analyze and measure company performance against external and internal benchmarks
  • Manage assets and comprehend multiple entities with over 100 investments
  • Ensure compliance with statutory law and finance regulations
  • Maintain and update accounting SOPs & policies appropriately
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and banks
  • Oversee ERP systems: manage vendor relationships and system upgrades
  • Identify opportunity areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Team Management including mentoring and staff development
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas, and forecast opportunities

Candidate Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages
  • Highly adaptable to an ever changing environment
