Overview

The primary mission of the DevOps Engineer role is to help our business evolve into an AI-first, insights-driven organization. This position sits in our Enterprise Data and Analytics team, which aims to drive improved business outcomes using insights gleaned from data and analytics, infusing them into Lennar's corporate fabric.

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for leading and performing the platform team's software releases using DataOps and DevOps best practices. In addition, the incumbent mentors and provides guidance to other team members in DevOps Release Management. The DevOps Engineer is a key role in operationalizing enterprise data fabric.

Responsibilities

• Leads & executes the platform team's release management efforts.
• Mentors and guides other team members' in DevOps release management & best practices.
• Design, build, and operationalize data engineering solutions for Lennar's data and analytics platforms and products.
• Implement CI/CD and other automation techniques to streamline data ingestion and delivery processes.
• Develop self-service data and analytics capabilities to empower business users to navigate our data ecosystem.
• Instrument platforms with robust metrics and monitoring.
• Improve data flow architecture, emphasizing data quality, maintainability, and extensibility.
• Support process improvement on the team to enable rapid development of data products.
• Implement software engineering and DataOps standards and best practices for data analytics team, including code modularization, versioning, testing, automation/CICD workflows, code reviews.
• Gain an understanding of core business processes and align data development with business strategy.
• Represents the Platform team in the Change Advisory Board meetings prior to production releases.
• Creates and maintains release notes in Git (Code Repo) and Confluence.

  • Azure DevOps (CI/CD) (2-3 years)
  • GitHub (Code Repo) (3-5 years)
  • Kubernetes (2-3 years)
  • Azure Cloud (5+ years)
    • IAM
    • Basic networking
    • Container Apps (and Container Environments)
    • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
    • App Insights (incl. KQL querying)
    • Alert Rules
      
• Infrastructure Coding
  • ARM / Bicep (2-3 years)
  • Azure DevOps Pipeline YAML (2-3 years)
  • Kubernetes Manifests YAML (2-3 years)
  • Bash scripting (2-3 years)
  • Python scripting (2-3 years)
  • Strong adherence to core software engineering principles (code modularization, versioning, git, testing, Agile etc.)
  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience with FiveTran and / or Qlik
  • Experience with Prefect
  • Experience with dbt
  • Experience with database replication tools
  • Good understanding of data analytics architectural approaches and data models (Data Vault experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency in data wrangling and integration
