Sr Cloud Architect

Job Description:

The Sr. Cloud Architect is responsible for establishing and overseeing Cass cloud strategy including: developing and driving cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, implementation, documentation, transition, cloud management and monitoring across the enterprise. This role will work very closely with the solutions architects in influencing and adopting cloud technology platforms, tools, and services with a goal of performance and enhanced security.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Maintains in-depth knowledge of the strategic business plans of the department and respective business unit.
2. Provides architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to systems analysts, systems engineers, and other system architects for cloud initiatives.
3. Maintains in-depth knowledge of company s existing IT architecture, infrastructure, and technology portfolio.
4. Develops, documents, communicates, and enforces technology standards for cloud development and implements standards for cost optimizations and efficiencies.
5. Conducts research on emerging technologies in support of cloud development efforts and recommends technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and flexibility.
6. Designs, develops, and oversees implementation of end-to-end cloud systems.
7. Develops and executes test plans to check technical performance, reports on findings and makes recommendations for improvement.
8. Provides guidance and direction to team members for cloud development practices.
9. Organizes and participates in reviews of code and design.
10. Provide Cloud guidance and architectural oversight during requirements, design, development, and delivery to ensure that the end-to-end solution remains aligned to the strategy and target architecture.
11. Ensures cloud solutions meet the Company s quality, security and compliance requirements.
12. Trains other employees on day-to-day operational support duties related to cloud infrastructure as needed.
13. Other duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED:

1. A bachelor s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. 5+ years of experience working as a developer.
3. 5+ years of experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
4. 5+ years of experience in window and/or web-based systems design and development.
5. 5+ years of hands on experience with application development tools, including Visual Studio .NET, TFS, Microsoft DevOps.
6. 5+ years of hands-on experience with relational database technology, preferably MS SQL Server.
7. 1-3 years of experience working with cloud-based technologies, such as Azure and AWS.
