Job Description

KID smART is a non-profit organization that engages children and educators in dynamic, creative, and relevant learning through the arts. Through partnerships with K-8 schools, KID smART provides collaborative artist residencies, professional development for teachers and teaching artists, and after-school and community-based programming to empower all children to unlock their full academic, creative, and personal potential.

SUMMARY OF JOB POSITION
The Outreach and Events Manager works closely with KID smART staff to sustain and deliver joyful, mission-aligned fundraising and community experiences. With an attendance of 150-500 people, KID smART s events deepen relationships with supporters and partners and promote community awareness of arts integration. The ideal candidate for this position is an organized and dynamic problem-solver who is able to manage multiple
projects at once in a fast-paced environment. The Outreach and Events Manager will regularly communicate with and update the Executive Director on events and outreach activities and tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB POSITION
Outreach and Events Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Events Management
Manage the budgeting, design, coordination, and evaluation for KID smARTs events, including its annual fundraiser, cultivation events, and bi-annual conference
Assist the Programming Team with logistics coordination for thought leadership programs
Collaborate with various teams and partners to implement audience-appropriate experiences, visibility campaigns, and donor/sponsor solicitations
Work with vendors and venues to establish costs, event requirements, and deliverables
Manage volunteer recruitment, meetings, training, and participation in events and event committees
Maintain event records, manuals, and reports
Represent the organization at events and in PR segments and interviews regarding events

Community Outreach and Engagement
Develop and maintain impactful partnerships to help achieve KID smART s service goals and mission
Identify opportunities to collaborate with Creative Schools and local partners on projects that increase KID smART s presence within the community
Increase community engagement and brand awareness through participation in community events
Manage protocols and annual calendar of community outreach activities

Development Support
Assist the Development Director with drafting fund development budgets as they relate to fundraising campaigns, events, and grant applications
Assist with fundraising, donor cultivation events, and other projects as needed
Seek out and secure sponsorships and in-kind donations for events and special projects

Strategic Planning
Monitor and update special projects and events within KID smART s 5-year Strategic Plan to ensure events and outreach goals are being met

Technically proficient - Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, project management platforms, and graphic design applications

Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following experience:
3 years of experience coordinating and executing a variety of events, including fundraisers, workshops, and conferences
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects simultaneously
Strong customer experience skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with team, community, volunteers, and vendors
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and comfort communicating across a diverse range of audiences
Ability to clearly articulate the mission and programs of KID smART
Proficiency in managing administrative functions, including: calendar management; scribing meeting minutes/summaries; record keeping; process building
Ability to work and positively function within a team environment
