Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-growing global U.S. Based Language Service
agency. Translation Excellence is seeking a highly experienced Spanish language instructor/coach.
The ideal candidate will provide language instructions/coaching to public health
professionals who will be working in Spanish-speaking countries during international
deployments. The instructor/coach will teach Spanish language to students who are
classified into three bands based on competence: beginner, intermediate and
advanced.
He/she will also coach students in a one-on-one setting.
Classes are virtual via MS Teams but that may change to in-person at our Atlanta, Georgia location.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen and Living in the USA
- Native-level fluency in oral and written Spanish.
- Masters (at a minimum) or Doctoral (preferred) degree in Linguistics and/or
- Foreign Language Instruction.
- Extensive (10+ years) experience with public health and medical terminology in
Spanish, including but not limited to infectious and chronic diseases, nutrition,
water and sanitation, reproductive health, injury, and complex humanitarian
emergencies. - Extensive (10+ years) experience applying cultural and linguistic differences
based on country/region (Central and South American Spanish) and audience
(e.g., scientific language for highly educated adults vs. plain survey language
for children and illiterate adults). - Extensive (10+ years) experience preparing public health professionals for real-
world international assignments in global public health.
