Job Description: Senior Middleware Architect

Location: Dallas, TX


Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Middleware Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex middleware solutions for our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in architecting and integrating middleware technologies, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange between diverse applications and systems. As a Senior Middleware Architect, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and drive the adoption of best practices in middleware architecture and integration.


Key Responsibilities:


Middleware Architecture:

- Design and architect robust middleware solutions that align with the organizations business objectives and technical requirements.

- Evaluate existing middleware technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance system scalability, performance, and reliability.

- Develop architectural patterns and guidelines for middleware integration across various platforms and technologies.


Integration and Deployment:

- Lead the integration of middleware components with enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and other systems.

- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration of middleware solutions within the existing IT landscape.

- Implement best practices for version control, deployment automation, and configuration management in middleware environments.


Technical Leadership:

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to middleware developers and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.

- Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and project managers to define middleware strategies and roadmaps.

- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends related to middleware, recommending their adoption where applicable.


Performance Optimization and Scalability:

- Identify performance bottlenecks in middleware components and optimize configurations for enhanced system responsiveness.

- Conduct load testing and performance analysis to ensure middleware solutions can handle expected volumes of data and transactions.


Security and Compliance:

- Implement robust security measures within middleware solutions, including data encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data privacy and security.


Documentation and Communication:

- Create detailed technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, configuration guides, and deployment procedures.

- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, facilitating understanding and decision-making.


Qualifications:


- Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Proven experience as a Middleware Architect or similar role, with a focus on middleware technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Apache Camel).

- Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing middleware solutions in enterprise environments.

- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, or Shell scripting.

- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their middleware services.

- Familiarity with API management, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.

- Strong understanding of security protocols, SSL/TLS, and identity management in middleware environments.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications:


- Middleware-related certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Architect, IBM Certified Solution Architect).

- Experience with DevOps practices and tools for middleware automation.

- Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for middleware components.

- Familiarity with ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) technologies and patterns.

- Previous experience in leading middleware architecture projects from concept to implementation.
