Job Description

Noka is a fast-growing natural food brand committed to inspiring healthy, vibrant lives. We’ve grown rapidly in recent years and our products are in 20,000+ stores nationwide including top retailers like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Wegmans, HEB, Meijer, Walmart, and Costco. But, excitedly, we think we are only scratching the surface!

What You Will Do:

The National Sales Manager position is responsible for building and supporting a mix of Noka’s national and regional Natural Grocery, Conventional Grocery, and Foodservice accounts and having full P&L, sell-in, and ongoing management responsibilities. This individual will report to the VP of Sales but will also work collaboratively with the two co-founders and the Operations team.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the relationship and P&L responsibility for a mix of Natural Grocery, Conventional Grocery, and Foodservice accounts across the U.S.
  • Define and implement Channel and Customer strategies and investment priorities.
  • Define and implement Trade Promotion and Shopper Marketing strategies by accounts which includes retail and digital executions.
  • Track and manage Trade Promotion and Shopper Marketing spends consistent with the investment strategy and within budget
  • Stay on top of category reviews for our product lines and work with our broker on submissions
  • Influence and inspire commitment from broker ownership & executives Identify and pursue new business opportunities through existing distribution (UNFI, KeHE, DPI, Dot, Core-Mark, Vistar, Sysco, GFS, etc)
  • Build upon and leverage buyer and above-buyer relationships with customers Champion the S&OP process to ensure sufficient lead time out and customer insight in.
  • Assist in Demand Forecast for owned accounts within variance goal.
  • Meet & exceed sales execution, revenue and profitability goals.
  • Participate in trade shows, trade events, and other customer and sales events as needed (limited).
  • Participate in weekly calls to review and strategize on accounts and opportunities.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required
Who You Are:
  • 5-7+ years of sales experience in the Natural Channel managing larger accounts like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Natural Grocers, Fresh Thyme, etc.
  • Prior experience managing Food Service / Alternative Channel accounts is a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellence in both a large CPG company and in a smaller, fast-growing brand is preferred.
  • A track record of successfully growing distribution across a variety of retail channels/categories is required.
  • Expertise driving Trade Spending effectiveness and efficiency is required. Evidence of and comfort with being highly collaborative with senior leadership and founders.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and virtual.
  • Strong analytic skills using shipment and consumption data as well as a profitability orientation.
  • Strategic thinker also with the ability to think tactically and the willingness to work the details.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial culture.

  • This position is remote/home office-based
  • Reasonable travel is required, including some nights and weekends (depending on Covid conditions)
