Job Overview

We have grown substantially over the past decade, and we are seeking a highly skilled, talented, ambitious, flexible, and professional individual to support continued growth. We are hiring a full-time, experienced Residential Energy Efficiency and Electrification Program Manager to lead and oversee the implementation of residential energy efficiency and electrification initiatives. The ideal candidate should have experience managing utility programs, federally funded projects, or related programs. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in residential energy efficiency and have a passion for sustainable and innovative energy solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong willingness to adapt to varying assignments within the scope of the position. They will also demonstrate a willingness to continuously learn new tasks in many areas related to achieving program success for clients.

This position may require working in a fully remote, fully on-site or a hybrid setting. All settings require on-site meetings at unpredictable frequencies and require full-time availability during business hours Monday through Friday. A remote setting requires working from home and primarily using video-based communication and, secondarily, electronic mail and messaging platforms to coordinate with project stakeholders. An in-person setting requires working on-site at an authorized project location. A hybrid setting requires a combination of remote and on-site.

This position may be filled as a direct hire, through a contracted staffing company on behalf of ERS, or as a direct contract placement.

Job Duties

  • Oversee the design and execution of residential energy efficiency and electrification programs.
  • Work directly with the Energy Office of the respective state to deliver the program.
  • Act as primary liaison between the client and program staff to maintain a highly collaborative and cooperative environment.
  • Operationalize program workflows and processes following program/client policies, incorporating design elements to increase efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Analyze contractual and financial performance, identify areas of improvement and direct activities to implement solutions. and nbsp;
  • Allocate and manage staff and resources to meet objectives; investigate and implement ways to improve operational efficiency.
  • Anticipated to lead a team of up to 50+ staff.
  • Manage the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment, and coaching.
  • Collaborate with utilities, local governments, and federal agencies as needed.
  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, consultants, and staff to implement the program effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of ongoing programs to ensure that objectives and KPIs are met.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with funding requirements.
  • Oversee engagement with homeowners, contractors, and other stakeholders to educate and advocate for energy efficiency and electrification.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and legislation related to energy efficiency and electrification.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans, setting goals and benchmarks for project performance.
  • Coordinate with communications and marketing teams to increase public awareness of energy efficiency and electrification initiatives.
  • Applies specialized knowledge of federal, state, and local government statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Handles and prioritizes multiple tasks to set and meet internal and external deadlines.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing utility programs, federally funded programs, or similar energy-focused programs.
  • 10+ years of experience with progressive advancement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies, electrification, and sustainable energy practices.
  • Proven track record in project and program management.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local energy policies and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Proficiency in budget management and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desired Education and Experience

  • Professional certification in energy management or equivalent.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and public speaking.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software and tools.

Salary

If filled as a direct employee, salary range is $125,000 - $175,000 annually, commensurate with combined education and experience. This is a full-time position. The annual salary is based on a 40 hour per week schedule, paid bi-weekly as a direct employee.
