Growing Company in Colorado Springs has a need for an Safety/EHS Manager. This is a direct hire role with a full benefits package. The EHS Manager will work to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education to team members.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop, update, and manage workplace safety programs, procedures, and policies.
- Responsible for the maintenance of safety and accident reports.
- Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
- Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
- Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs.
- Provides management team with guidance on health and safety and confirms plant meets or exceeds industry, local, state, and federal guidelines, and regulations.
- Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
- Assists, plans, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Assessing engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis.
- Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
- Ensure medical examinations and training are provided as required by OSHA standards.
- Administers training programs within the facility.
- Must perform all work in accordance with safety procedures.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A 2 or 4-year degree in EHS or related field 3+ years of experience in Safety and Environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
