Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Manager guides and manages the overall Human Resources services, policies, and programs for approximately 90 employees that will provide an employee-orient, high-performance culture that emphasizes, safety, quality, productive and goal attainment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Day to day functions):

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage activities of the HR team; develop departmental goals, objectives, and metrics; train and develop HR team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate compensation plans and health benefits/wellness programs for effectiveness and cost containment; advise management of new developments and trends, make recommendations, and implement necessary changes.
  • Oversee administration and interpretation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring employees are trained and aware of developing changes; ensure that company policies and practices comply with applicable laws and are properly applied throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Provide counsel to leaders in areas involving performance management, employee relations, and engagement efforts.
  • Develop and manage employee training, development, and engagement programs aimed at improving the employee experience and retaining the best talent; oversee local succession planning efforts.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external people-related communications plans and efforts; participate in community engagement initiatives.
  • Implements and annually updates job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys; analyzes compensation; monitors performance evaluation and revisions as necessary.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt positions.
  • Conducts new-associate onboarding and orientations; training, development, monitors career progression path program, succession planning, associate relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviews.
  • Negotiates Temporary Labor Bill Rates and outsourcing.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports.
  • Participates in, and assists with, safety-related initiatives.
  • Maintains organization chart and evaluates reports.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment while supporting the company s Culture.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships at all levels
  • Responsible for the payroll function
  • Works with third parties for benefit and 401(k) management

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field required.
  • 5-8 years of human resource management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Strong Leadership skills.
  • Analytical Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present materials to large groups- Good public speaking skills.
  • Self-motivate, work with a sense of urgency, multi task and prioritize.
  • Manage with a detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to positively handle conflict.
  • Capable of working in a cross-functional environment.
  • Mentoring and Coaching Skills

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

This position is performed in a climate-controlled temperature environment. Incumbent in this role will be required to maintain a flexible work schedule to achieve objectives.
