Best Western Plus Surprise Phoenix NW is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team of professionals. Our ideal candidate will contribute to the exceptional service Best Western Plus is known for by maintaining the property, problem-solving, and general upkeep and maintenance of guest rooms, grounds, and hotel communal areas.
Our Hotel Maintenance Tech will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, and respond to guest requests. This candidate will have a strong understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing principles, and will be skilled at repairing equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assist all activities of hotel maintenance operations
- Perform and direct preventative maintenance programs/repairs for equipment, guest rooms, and hotel grounds
- Maintain pool and spa according to the company, the property brand, and state and local codes
- Maintain outdoor appearance, including lawn, landscaping, and parking lot
- Follow and ensure that Policies and Procedures of the Hotel Operations are followed
- Ensure compliance with hotel and brand regulations
- Repair/replace wallboard systems, painting, texturing, and maintain a working knowledge of basic plumbing and mechanical systems
- Assist guests and staff in the resolution of unit maintenance concerns, complaints, and questions
- Utilize specific hand and power tools required to accomplish all phases of projects from rough-in carpentry to trim cabinetry
- Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the management
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in hotel maintenance or related field
- Strong understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing principles
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
- Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to use tools and standard maintenance equipment
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required and/or as needed
- Ability to work effectively independently and/or with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
