Job Description

A well-established law firm is seeking to hire a Billing Specialist. In this seat, you will be responsible for pre bill edits, data entry, and some collections if needed. Previous legal billing experience is not required, but highly preferred. This role is full-time onsite to start, but once training is complete, it will transition to a hybrid model. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of billing experience, possesses strong computer skills, and is a fast-paced worker!

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Generate invoices specific to client requirements.
  • Meet month-end closing deadlines.
  • Update payment breakdown sheets.
  • Collect on delinquent invoices.
  • Log all collection efforts by updating the AR tracking sheet.
  • Forward billing questions from clients to the appropriate manager.
  • Run monthly WIP and AR reports.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years of experience as a Billing Specialist or similar role.
  • Knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Accounting or Legal billing and collections experience is a plus.


Responsibilities: Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status Contact members regarding overdue payments Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts Process payments and refunds Resolve billing and customer credit issues Help convert Members who pay by check to payments by credit card or bank account Represent our firm in the most polished, professional, and highest-quality manner possible. Qualifications: An entrepreneurial spirit Enthusiastic, energetic, personable, and friendly disposition Excellent written and verbal communication skills Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks to successful completion Ability to be gracious and maintain a professional, positive attitude in a variety of situations Capability to work cooperatively with other staff (from a remote location) Proficiency in MS Office and Google Sheets software strongly encouraged Previous customer service and/or administrative experience strongly preferred Associates degree or in progress for bachelor s degree
