Job Description
Position Overview
RCN Technologies is seeking enthusiastic and creative marketing interns to join our dynamic team. As a marketing intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content marketing and play a pivotal role in our marketing strategy. Youll have many opportunities to develop and grow your career skills and applied experience. In addition to working closely with every member of the Marketing Team on impactful projects and having a strong influence on their development and execution, youll also spend time shadowing team members in other departments. Youll get face-to-face time with the company president and other executives while building relationships and your professional network with leaders throughout the company. Youll have the opportunity to observe meetings with various stakeholders. Your roles and responsibilities will provide skill development and youll get periodic informal and formal reviews and feedback from your supervisor. Youll also have input on what you want to accomplish during your internship.
Future Employment
Our intent with this position is to find an exceptional intern that we can bring into the marketing department on a full time basis. We see this internship as an opportunity to learn about sales and business development and train with real-world applications as well as get in the door at a fast-growing tech company with a talented and young workforce. Depending on a number of factors, we may choose to offer a position to the intern in this role. While this role would ideally result in an intern-to-hire position, employment at the end of the internship is not guaranteed and may not occur for a number of reasons that do not include intern performance.
Compensation
You may earn academic credit in addition to learning through on-the-job training. While enrolling in academic credit is not required to complete this internship, we are willing to work with students who are seeking academic credit for the experience. Additional compensation opportunities may be discussed with you during the interview process.

What You ll Do
Your role will likely include the following activities, though there will be new needs and activities that develop during your time here that you ll be involved with as well:
- Always uphold and adhere to RCN s Core Culture Values
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for RCNs primary solutions
- Conduct a detailed competitor analysis to understand the competitive Landscape
- Develop a content calendar outlining blogs and social media posts
- Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and generate innovative content ideas
- Write, schedule, and publish engaging and SEO-friendly blogs and social media posts
- Utilize analytics tools to track the performance of your content
- Make data-driven decisions to optimize the content strategy and make necessary adjustments.
- Assist with the execution of special projects/events to raise brand awareness
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
- Must be well spoken, outgoing, organized, detailed-orientated, dependable and flexible
- May perform other duties outside of job description when needed

- This position requires the ability to operate a telephone, computer, calculator, copier, scanner, and any other office equipment.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs.

Education & Experience
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or relevant field preferred
- Content creation experience
- Basic social media graphic design experience (Adobe suite skills are a plus)
- Experience in SEO or digital marketing (a Google AdWords and/or Google Analytics certification will be looked favorably upon)
- Students must have at least Junior standing to apply
- Proven track record as a strong, effective communicator
- Bonus for those with experience working within Zoho
