Job Description

Job Brief: 

 Department heads take charge of departments. They monitor, lead, train, and manage staff. As the Department Head of Leasing, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the leasing operations of our real estate portfolio. This critical leadership position demands a deep understanding of property management and leasing strategies, a strong ability to foster client relationships and a passion for optimizing property performance. Department heads ensure that overall day-to-day operations run smoothly for the department they oversee. 



Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of leasing professionals, including leasing agents, coordinators, and administrative staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and a collaborative work environment.

  • The LEASING TEAM LEAD is responsible for running all leasing team and individual meetings with Leasing Team Members on a scheduled basis as well as reporting during the weekly meetings.

  • The LEASING TEAM LEAD is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in growing the Leasing Department by assisting with interviews, team reviews, and process implementation and changes. 

  • The LEASING TEAM LEAD is responsible for meeting with the Operations Manager on a weekly basis to present a “state of department” update and review improvements and changes to be made to the department. Be able to provide reporting and analytics on for leasing department.  Utilize data analytics to track key performance indicators, assess leasing strategies, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Legal Compliance: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of property laws, regulations, and leasing-related legal issues. Ensure all lease agreements and practices comply with local, state, and federal laws.

  • Client Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with property owners and investors. Create a STATE OF LEASING video on a quarterly basis to be sent to property owners using Uptown Property services to include regular updates on leasing performance, market trends, and legal updates.

  • Market Analysis: Stay current with local real estate market trends and competitive properties. Utilize market research to adjust leasing strategies, pricing models, and property improvements to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Lease Negotiations: Personally oversee high-value lease negotiations and complex tenant interactions. Ensure lease agreements are mutually beneficial and in compliance with legal requirements.

  • Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance department to set and manage leasing budgets. Monitor financial performance, analyze leasing reports, and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize property revenue.

  • The LEASING TEAM LEAD will be responsible for a portfolio of properties up which includes lease signing, turnover reporting, inspections, property onboarding including completed portfolios and files, and communication with tenants and property owners. 

  • Leasing Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive leasing strategies for the organization's property portfolio. This includes setting rental rates, establishing leasing targets, and implementing marketing campaigns to attract and retain tenants.

  • Tenant Relations: Foster positive tenant relationships by addressing elevated needs, concerns, and requests promptly. Ensure tenant satisfaction to enhance lease renewals and reduce vacancies.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

Must have valid driver’s license 

Uptown Properties seeks to attract, recruit, advance and retain top talent. Uptown Properties compensation strategy is tailored to appropriately reward the skillset and experience that a team member will bring to the organization. This position is a base plus bonus structure with a range of 75-90k annually. The base compensation rate will vary based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location, as applicable.

Team members may also participate in the 401k plan, once eligible.
