Adult Program Driver and Recreation Aide - Hope Christian Services, Wyckoff, NJ

Job Summary:

Assist in planning and setting up activities and personal care of residents in
Adult Program. Support the Instructor in facilitating daily activities for the residents.

Job Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required must be 18 years of age.
One year working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Ability to lift residents weighing up to 35 pounds independently, assist in manual lifts,
and transport positioning equipment.
Drive vans as required
Valid driver's license in good standing with no more than 5 points
Must read, write and speak English with excellent written and verbal skills

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide atmosphere that maintains the safety, health, dignity and well-being of resident
Lift residents to alternate positions as needed
Assist residents with recreation/leisure skills emphasizing independence and participation
(including games, food preparation, primping, styling, sports, swimming and outings)
Communicate concerns of resident with inter-disciplinary team as needed
Assist resident as needed in any intervention of the day
Take residents on Community Outings and assist as needed.
Assist in personal hygiene, toileting, and at breakfast as assigned
Transport residents to and from day program in a timely manner
Assist residents as they get in and out of the vehicles
Operate lifts and secure tie downs to wheelchairs.

Shift:Monday - Friday 8am-4pm
