Job Description
School Nurse duties and responsibilities
School Nurses are responsible for providing medical assistance to school-age students, and they complete multiple tasks each day ranging from assessing minor injuries to requesting emergency Specific School Nurse job duties and responsibilities may include:
- Conducting student hearing and vision screenings
- Educating students on hygiene and safety practices
- Dispensing prescription medications to students per physician instructions
- Verifying vaccination records
- Taking students temperatures when fever is suspected
- Administering first aid and CPR
- Treating minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes and bruises
- Contacting parents when students are ill or injured
Requirements
Requirements:
- Current State of Florida license and certification(s) to provide nursing services as
described herein (the school may do random auditing so we will need to have them on file) - AHCA
- Vendor Badge (Fieldprint instructions attached) ; All contractor
personnel are required to wear clothing or an identification badge identifying contractor by either
name or logo, and to have in possession and present upon request, by DCPS personnel, a form of
picture identification ( - driver s license, ID card) AND a DCPS Vendor Badge - Current Resume
- Review of the School Health Services Manual I will create a PDF that can be sent out to them in the welcome
- When I Work log in for clocking in and out
